Tread Trainer
A prototype has been made of an experimental device that allows any style of bicycle to be ridden in place as an exercise platform. When the rider pedals the bike's rear wheel is rolling on a treadmill type belt while the front wheel and frame are locked into a linear slide that allows the bike to move forward and rearward. When the rider pedals the bike is free to move forward and backward about 18" so keeping the bike in the middle of that travel is as close as possible to "real" riding but staying in place. Also the Tread Trainer can tilt up and down therefore simulating riding up and down hill. Take a look at the YouTube video and for further information contact Loren here
